Christine Falsetti, PhD


Christine Falsetti founded kidsSTRONG, a registered 501c3 nonprofit corporation, in 2008 focused on transforming the childhood cancer experience. kidsSTRONG is dedicated to improving the quality of life and care for our nation’s youngest cancer survivors, who deserve better, more holistic healthcare options.  As a parent who lost her son, Ben, to pediatric cancer in 2005, Dr. Falsetti is motivated to end the treatment disparities that exist today while advancing scalable and sustainable family centered care practices for childhood cancer survivors.


As a seasoned executive in the commercial and nonprofit worlds, Dr. Falsetti brings over 25 years of marketing, organizational and business development expertise to kidsSTRONG.  She is internationally recognized for her pioneering achievements in the development of large scale networking applications systems and innovative customer marketing techniques. Most notably, this includes the market development for network and distributed applications technologies at NASA and Cisco leading to the creation and evolution of the Internet. 


Previously, Dr. Falsetti held various executive level positions in marketing, business development, and software and product development at Cisco.   She was responsible for guiding the strategic market development of Cisco’s network architecture systems and solutions for enterprise healthcare, retail and manufacturing customers.  As an officer on the Wi-Fi Alliance, she led Cisco’s and guided the industry’s strategic market development of wireless LAN. Wireless revenue grew 500% in 3 years for Cisco through her development and promotion strategy of wireless as a standard secure networking access technology.


Prior to Cisco, Dr. Falsetti focused on accelerating development of high performance networking technologies to prototype revolutionary applications for NASA.  Dr. Falsetti was the Project Manager for the NASA Research and Education Network and led the US Joint Engineering Team design and development of Next Generation Internet.  Additionally, Dr. Falsetti managed the engineering and customer service teams that developed, built and operated the NASA Science Internet (NSI), the first Internet Service Provider on Earth.  NSI provided an integrated network platform to over 40,000 NASA scientists enhancing science communications, enabling new applications and increasing collaboration worldwide.

kidsSTRONG is a registered tax exempt, 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation based in California.  kidsSTRONG was established in 2008 by parents who had children touched by cancer and concerned healthcare professionals.  kidsSTRONG is the leading national organization focused solely on accelerating comprehensive cancer care communications and research for kids touched by cancer so all children are inspired, supported,  and empowered to deal with care, treatment and survivorship on their terms.


We are the proud San Francisco Bay Area affiliate of Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation, a national organization based in Maryland.
